Singapore is known for its fusion dishes, and the best place to get a mouthful is by going to a Hawker.
A hawker is essentially a food court generally located outside with a roof. Lines of small kitchens pump out gorgeous smells with the hope of inviting you in to buy a dish. Make sure you get a seat first otherwise you may be carrying your food as opposed to eating it while you search for an empty table amongst the sea of hungry bellies.
Dishes are usually decent in size and much cheaper than going to a restaurant. The flavours are strong and with so many choices under one literal roof, you will be stretching your palate to the max. The atmosphere is loud, the flavours pumping, and the experience exhilarating. If you travel with your tongue, do not miss out on a hawker at Singapore.
Hawkers are located all over the city, but the one pictured is close to Chinatown.
